Can you use the loop tool to make a section loop a few times in the rendered project and the have the movie play on. Or do you have to copy and paste the section in the timeline before rendering?

You need to copy and paste the section you want to loop.
ℹī¸ Remember to turn everything off at least once a week, including your brain, then sit somewhere quiet and just chill out.
