at 5.06 above you have file music1.wav. How do you decide the file will be a wav, is that in the microphone settings?. What would be a good microphone for this?

Have you any tutorial on sound post processing in Vegas pro?

Thanks

Hi CineMan

.wav is the default recording format, when you record audio direct to the Vegas timeline.
There are no other options.
.wav is uncompressed, so this is the best and highest quality version for editing with.

There are literally 100's if not 1000's of microphone options today.
If you plan to do a lot of audio recording, I highly recommend you get a microphone that can be mounted on an adjustable boom arm.
This stops noise from travelling from your keyboard and desk into the mic, otherwise you can end up with annoying thumps and clicks.
There are 2 main types of microphones for computer recording:
1. USB - plugs directly into a USB port and is ready to go immediately.
2. XLR - a more professional option is an XLR connected Mic. This type of mic requires a pre-amp box, before connecting via USB to your computer.

I have been using a Rode Podcaster mic with the Rode Professional Studio Arm, to record all my tutorials.
This is a directional microphone, which means it picks up mostly what is spoken directly into the end and rejects room noise.

If you search this mic on Amazon and/or online music stores, you should find other brand recommendations for similar mic setups.

When you render your entire Vegas project, any .wav audio files will be converted into the audio format selected in your Render As profile selection.
Which means the .wav section will get converted and compressed into a delivery format like AAC or AC-3, which is much smaller in file size.
