How to remove Window Relections in a video?

Hi everyone, and hoping someone may be able to help.

I recently went on The West Highland Railway to Fort William, and was videoing through the carriage window. Obviously there will be some reflection from inside the carriage, and this is to be expected, but is there some filter or other means of reducing this a little? If anyone has a suggestion it would be most appreciated. I am using VEGAS Pro 21 at this time, but will investigate the new BORISFX VEGAS 2026 in due course.

I would have to look at a sample of your video, before I could say anything one way or the other.
Sounds like an extremely advanced thing to do.

The first thing that came to mind, is you would have to apply some type of tracking.
Your version of Vegas Pro 21 should have come with Mocha Vegas, which is a specialized tracking plugin.
Open Vegas Pro and go to the Video FX tab.
See if you can find Mocha Vegas.
Here is a tutorial made by Boris FX, that shows how to use Mocha Vegas:


The newly released Vegas Pro 2026 comes with a new version of Mocha Vegas in the Vegas Pro Plus edition.
Vegas Pro Plus can be bought as an upgrade (keep for life) or subscription for 12 months.
Vegas Pro Ultimate is a subscription only, but comes with Mocha Pro, the professional advanced plugin version of Mocha.
I would recommend most people just experiment with the free 15 day trial for Vegas Pro 2026 first, before thinking about spending any money.

Removing the actual reflection is going to be the tricky part.
Do you want to apply a blur to the refected image?
OR
Do you want to try and completely remove it?

If it was a still image, that would be relatively easy to do with modern software.
You would add in a generated background to go on top of the reflection to hide it.

However, with a moving image, the background is going to be different in every single frame of the video, making this next to impossible.

Can you render a 30 second sample from your main video and upload to YouTube or Google Drive.
Then share a link on the forum, so I can download it.

I have seen BORISFX video on Mocha Vegas, and it looks very impressive, but unfortunately my version of VEGAS Pro 21 does not have it. If I upgrade to VEGAS Pro 2016 I might buy the Plus version. I was just wondering if there was a relatively quick method to improve the clips a little as I have many events with the issue. Your suggestion of a blur might be worth a try so I might try something along those lines.
