Solved Timeline cursor control in VEGAS PRO 13 & 14

Timeline cursor control in VEGAS PRO 13 & 14 was created by MrGrunthunter

In my SONY MOVIE STUDIO 13 I am able to 'grab' the cursor above the timeline and freely move it up and down the timeline without any hesitation. Now that I have installed VEGAS PRO 13 and now 14 I find that I cannot freely move the cursor. It basically wants to act like I'm fast forwarding back and forth over whatever video clip I'm working on. Is there a way to make it work like my SMS?

MrG, compare the differences in your Options > Preferences > General settings regarding cursor behaviour.

Most certainly does Eagle Six ! Greatly appreciated. In watching Derek's tutorial video in response to another person's post about speeding up and/or slowing down video's I also discovered what Derek was doing different to quickly move around in the timeline. Instead of clicking on the 'PlayHead' (I learned what that's called from the link you provided me :-) ) he clicked on the line directly under the PlayHead and dragged that forward and backwards quickly, just like we are able to do in SONY Movie Studio. Who say's 'Old Dogs' can't learn something new LOL.

Thanks for your reply.
Mike
