Screencast-o-matic video green in Movie Studio Platinum 13

Hi Folks! It's been a while since I've been here. This happened to me before but dont' rememember what you told me how to fix it. I may have asked this question on YouTube about a year ago.
So the problem is I recorded a video on Screencast-O-Matic with no problem. I can watch it on my pc and see and hear the video fine. I put it into my editing software (Movie Studio Platinum 13) and it is GREEN. I can hear myself but can't SEE the video..it is just a green screen.
How do I fix this? Thank you!
Hope everyone is well.
Melody :)

Hi Melody

Here are some things to look at:

1. Having GPU acceleration turned ON, can sometimes cause this problem. If this is the cause, there is an incompatibility with the Video Codec from Screencast and the Drivers for your Graphics Card. Go to Options/Preferences/Video/GPU Acceleration and set to OFF.

2. Sometimes the temporary files cache can become corrupted and the thumbnails in this cache go green. Resetting the program will delete the cache and restore all settings to defaults. Instructions here: www.moviestudiozen.com/doctor-zen-faq/573-how-to-reset-sony-software-to-default-settings

3. Many screen recording programs, often have different formats/video codecs you can record to. If there are alternate options, try them and see what happens.

4. If none of these options work, I suggest you try using a different program or convert your videos into a different format before importing into Movie Studio.
I recommend OBS - Open Broadcaster Software .mp4 format.

Derek

Thank you! The first option did not work. Going to try the 2nd option tomorrow since it is bed time now :) If that doesn't work what does it mean to convert to different format. I'm not tech savy. Do you have a video on how to do this?
I tried the OBS once before and it was Chinese to me. I just didn't understand it. I used to use Screen casto matic all the time with no problem...then once last year it turned green. You told me how to fix it but can't remember what I did but it fixed it.
I THINK you told me how to convert into different format but have no idea how I did that. I'm sure you must have told me how lol :) Thank you! I'll try tomorrow with fresh eyes. :) I already did the video for YouTube and would hate to have to redo it if I don't have to. Thanks again.
