Some time ago I successfully burned a DVD using the Vegas Movie Program and Architect. I made a copy of the DVD into my "Videos" folder on an external HD. Unfortunately I have misplaced the DVD and have attempted to create a new program in the VMP. When I attempt to add the medai through "Add Media", the file cannot be found and a search results in no files being found. The file I am searching is an MTS file.

The mts file isn't a DVD video file so it's not a copy of the DVD.

Is by chance this file the one that is needed by VMS as mentioned in your first post? If not you'd better give us more detail on what exactly you are doing.

Thank you ericlnz. A brief background - Earlier this year, my computer 'crashed' and I purchased a new system. Following advice from my PC technician, Windows 10 was installed to replace Windows 7, and an old version of VMS was upgraded to the current version at the time. Prior to this, I had saved (I thought) my DVDs onto an external HD in preparation for such an occurrence. The file I need is sitting in a 'Videos' folder on the external drive, along with a number of other saved DVD copies. Some of these are MPG files and open without problem. Others have the same problem as the file I am trying to open.
The file's properties show it as a "VF File", and will open with Movie Studio. However, it then asks to search for an "MTS" file, with no result.

Thank you vkmast. I have checked where you suggest and only find the DVDs which I have completed since the upgrade earlier this year.

What is the name of the mts file that Movie Studio is looking for?

If it is a file that you have on your external HD then either redirect MS to use it there, or copy the file to your pc HD and get MS to use it from there.
