Solved Audio not playing back correctly in Vegas Movie Studio 16 Platinum

Hi  I have the latest Windows 10 64.     so when i put video clips w/ audio down on the time line. when i click play and the cursor moves to the right if there is audio in the first 10 seconds or so of the clip it does not play it's muted. if i look to the left on the audio track control panel it shows the audio amplitude meters are tracking the audio from the beginning of the track, just do not hear anything. A lot of the times the audio starts in the middle of the conversation instead of the beginning.

That's the first time I have ever heard of this problem.

1. Make sure you have the final build version for Vegas Movie Studio 16 Platinum installed, which is Build #175.
To check build number, open Vegas and go to Help/About.
If it is not #175, download and install from this link:

2. After checking the above, I recommend you perform a full program reset.
This will delete the temporary files cache and restore all settings to factory defaults.

3. After the reset, start a new project and add one video. Don't try and open any saved projects just yet.
Is the audio working now ?

4. If audio is still not working, l need to know where your videos are coming from and what their properties are.
Install an app called MediaInfo and upload a report for me.
