Hi Morrie
That's very strange indeed.
I have never heard of that happening to anyone before today.
The first thing to try is a full program reset.
This will restore all settings back to factory defaults and it will also delete the Temporary Files Cache (folder).
If you have been using Vegas Movie Studio for a long time and never emptied the cache, it could have become corrupted.
Please note that resetting will not delete any of your saved projects - you will also have to reconfigure any custom settings you may have added.
Reset instructions here:

If resetting the program does not fix the problem, you may have a problem with Windows OR the type of video you are editing with may be the cause.
If this problem is only happening in the same project, that would indicate the .vf Project File may have become corrupted.
After you do the reset, start a new test project.
Import one video and test Event Pan/Crop.
If it doesn't crash, the problem is fixed.
If you open a saved project and it crashes again, that will tell you the project file has become corrupted.
Let me know how you go.
I have other ideas I can share with you if needed!
Regards
Derek
