Q: Why can't I get the Track Motion Tool to work properly in Vegas Pro?

Answer: If you are having problems with the Track Motion Tool it will be because of two things.

Number 1:
Make sure you press on top of "Position" which is the label at bottom of window on left hand side.
If you have Shadow or Glow high-lighted instead, then you wont be able to control the Track Motion window properly.

Number 2:
All the ICON settings running along the top and the settings running down the side, need to be in precise combinations to achieve particular effects.

This information applies to all versions of Vegas Movie Studio Platinum and Vegas Pro.

Well, it does work sometimes, but sometimes I make a trim on a video and the track motion just goes away, and can't be set again unless I reset Vegas

  Which exact version of Vegas are you using?
  Vegas Pro or Vegas Movie Studio Platinum?
  Which build version do you have installed?
  Go to Help/About to find build version number.

Hi, I'm on Vegas pro 17 and when I put anything on the video track above the one that my clips are on it doesn't show what I put on the track above at all. Please help.

  There is no problem with the Track Motion window. If it is not working, you have a setting wrong.
  I do recommend however, that you make sure you have the latest build version of Vegas installed.

  If you are using an older build version for Vegas Pro 15, that maybe the cause of problem.
  6x build updates have been released for VP15, which fix many bugs.
  Download from here:

  If that does not fix problem, do a full program reset.

hi, im wondering why parent-motion trick isnt working for me. The problem is the 'children' arent following the parent motion when I already clicked on the compositing child button.ive set up keyframes but it's only working on the parent. im really hoping you could help :)

  Vegas Pro 15 now allows you to edit what buttons you want to see.
  Press the "hamburger" button [3x horizontal lines].
  Go to last option to edit what you see.

  Turn on the SYNC button "padlock" for live view.
  If you are still having problems after that, reset the program:
