Ditto :!:

I haven't bought a physical disc for any software since 2010, so have no idea what may be on it. I created a Program Installation Files Archive years ago and keep copies of every single program I have ever bought and downloaded. I also save each new build version to the archive. The most important thing I keep in the archive is all the Activation Codes. This method has worked flawlessly and saved a lot of time when I did clean installs of Windows and had to re-install all my programs. Once a year a go through the archive a delete anything I know is useless now.

I wish I'd been told this years ago! It's perhaps the most useful piece of advice I've ever seen.

Thanks to all contributors for your comments. Derek I should set the record straight by saying, I also have kept all my software and activation codes. Some years ago before NAS (which I still don't have due price) I purchased two external HDD's and kept copies or all my critical files and software downloads mirrored on each of the drives. This is a privative NAS I guess. I was also able to remove these drives when I went on holiday and easly conseal them in another part of the house. They also are a life saver if you change your computer or do a clean install of the OS.
However my concern with ordering the disk with Vegas Pro 14 was that our internet is very slow here and can even drop out. Good news is coming in the form of high speed fibre broardband but its not here for a couple of months.

The National Broadband Network in Australia is being built right now in my town and should be switched on in the coming weeks I hope.
Unfortunately a dickhead ultra conservative prime minister we had (who got booted out by his own party), stopped the roll out of 1 Gbps Optic Fibre directly to each home in Australia and switched to Fibre to the Node system, which is less than 1/10th to 1/20th the speed.

I will get maximum plan, which is 100 Mbps down, 40 Mbps up. However like the old ADSL2+ system, Fibre to the Node degrades in speed dramatically, the further you are away from a node. I live in a farming district, so farmers are connecting to Wireless broadband towers, however reports are coming in locally that the wireless system is already completely overloaded during peak times and is worse than what people had before. I am worried about what type of service we will have once everyone has switched over.

New Zealand definitely WINS against Australia on this topic - actually a MASSIVE stomping 200 to nil victory if it were a Rugby game!
It's so depressing and such a massive waste of money, all because of one politicians ego which just had to disagree with every decision a former government made.
